Čarobna Šuma

Lucija’s artistic practice is inspired especially by the forests and landscapes of Istria. Her work brings together elements of expressionism and impressionism, using colour as a way to translate feelings, memories and personal experiences.

“Čarobna Šuma - Magical Forest was inspired by a real place in Istria, but the painting is not simply a depiction of that forest. It is my forest, the way I experienced, felt and remembered it. Nostalgia, euphoria, peace and a sense of safety all come together within it. Somehow, I always return to the forest, it feels like a kind of root.”
