Octoswans

Rather than trying to fit into expectations, Josh Harnack celebrates the strange, imperfect and unexpected parts of life. Through his acrylic and oil paintings, he combines realism and surrealism, creating worlds where imagination transforms familiar landscapes and invites us to reconnect with curiosity and wonder.
Harnack’s Octoswans belongs to his series called Unofficial Collaborations. Taking these peaceful landscapes painted from someone else and interrupting them with something completely absurd painted by him. These paintings feel so familiar that we think we’ve already seen them before. His additions are there to surprise people and make them look again.
